Fun Valentine's Day activities
You don't have to buy expensive presents or overthink what to get that special someone on February 14. We've done some research to come up with this list of fun Valentine's Day activities to inspire you.

  • Prepare a special meal at home. There are many options with this. Here are a few: -Break out your fancy dishes and tablecloth, put the table in a different room, and dress up. -Cook a special dish, or try something new. -Prepare brunch together based on a Valentine's Day theme, with red-colored foods or heart-shaped pancakes or toast.
  • Go to a restaurant for dessert only. Eat your main meal at home, and then follow it with a special sweet treat out.
  • Set up a picnic at the park if the weather is nice.

  • Go wine tasting. You can participate at a winery, but some local markets also hold events for Valentine's Day.
  • Try something creative together, such as a ceramics or painting class
  • Attend a game if you're sports lovers.
  • Hike, walk or bike trails. It's a good way to get fresh air and spend time together. If the weather isn't great, think about yoga or a dance class instead.
  • Go on a special trip to a museum, bookstore or another cultural/historical center. Think about adding a trip to a café or bakery to the outing.
  • Leave nice notes around the house for your partner to discover during the day. For a creative twist, put a message in a bottle.
  • Set up a treasure hunt for them with a small gift at the end, or do a scavenger hunt together.
  • Opt to celebrate a few days late. You could avoid the rush and higher prices in restaurants that way. Plus, candies and chocolates are on clearance after the holiday.
